Dear Friends: October’s has arrived and I am happy to be able to once again share
Jhampa Shaneman’s Buddhist Astrology Forecast –it’s an interesting month for me!
How about you?
OCTOBER 2012 – Buddhist Astrology Forecast
ARIES (March 21 – April 19) This month sees the Sun, Saturn and Mercury all opposite your Sun sign. That can mean you feel distracted and unsettled. This is even stronger for you because Uranus is in Aries, so expect the unexpected. What can help is Saturn’s influence for contemplative meditation and Mercury’s assistance in the process. As Aries likes to be active and motivated I would recommend you slow down and review your intentions. The month could be full of activities that lack focus if you act without forethought. Aries Buddhists love to be motivators. This month slow down and review your motives. Contemplate on meaningful actions and practice mindfulness when distraction arises.
TAURUS (April 20 May 20) This month has the feeling of being agitated. The reason is Mars and later Mercury are opposite your Sun sign. Therefore slow down and don’t create fantasies about the grass being greener on the other side of the hill. This agitation will effect you the first two weeks of the month and so be aware of your thoughts and actions. Taurus Buddhists love to be grounded and practical. This month your mind is excited with possibilities. It is a good month to meditate on Bodhicitta, the ultimate altruistic attitude. Your enthusiasm will stimulate growth of your love and compassion.
GEMINI (May 21 – June 20) This month life is fairly comfortable. The Sun is harmoniously aspected to Jupiter in your Sun sign. Therefore do activities that you enjoy and know the stars are on your side. It is similar to having good friends that support what you do. In the last 10 days of October slow down because Jupiter will come opposite Mars and square Venus. That can mean agitation and chasing desires. Think before you act. Gemini Buddhists are quick on their intellectual feet. This month go with the flow of virtue and create lots of positive karma. While the weather is sunny make hay, when the circumstances are good, create good karma.
CANCER (June 21 – July 22) This month go slowly. The Sun, Pluto, Saturn and Mercury are square or opposite to Cancer. Basically do small actions that have a higher possibility of success. Big events might become complicated for you. These aspects are not the end of the world but if it is raining and you have an umbrella you don’t get wet. If you are mindful you don’t have problems. Cancer Buddhists normally work with feelings. This month be reflective and patient. Patience is a wonderful virtue and Saturn gives you a blessing this month. Patience comes from understanding that aggression is not the best way to resolve issues. Compassion is a far better way to deal with all situations. It helps both you and others.
LEO (July 23 – August 22) This month you are affectionately contemplative. Venus is in Leo and Neptune, Mercury and Saturn are well aspected. This is how the month starts but it quickly finishes as the planets keep moving. The best way to use this influence is to do contemplative and motivational meditations for the first week and then switch over to just being intuitive with whatever you are involved in. There are few complications to be concerned about. Leo Buddhists like to be motivators. This month motivate yourself to meditate more than you normally do. There are times for change and there are times for contemplation. This is the time for contemplation and the organization of your life’s ambitions.
VIRGO (August 23 – September 22) This month no planets are in Virgo but Venus will quickly enter your sign. So having a bit of fun might be appropriate. The first week of October has you a little more sensual with an aspect to Mars but by the end of the month you are just happy. Be careful of being demanding about pleasures in the first week, that is about the only problem you might have. Virgo Buddhists do things in an orderly manner. This month start slowly to avoid mistakes and then have fun, enjoy yourself.
LIBRA (September 23 – October 22) This month is your birthday month. Don’t forget to send a card to your parents to thank them for this rebirth. If they have passed away then do a meditation in deep appreciation of the rebirth they gave you. Even if life has been complicated, the main thing is you have the Dharma. You will find the month starts a little grumpy as the Sun is squared by Pluto. So start planning to do good things and by the end of the month you will wonderfully intuitive with those positive projects. Libra Buddhists keep life in balance. The balance this month is between activity and thoughtfulness. You will be active at month’s end so be thoughtful now, that gives you balance later this month.
SCORPIO (October 23 – November 21) This month is your birthday month. Don’t forget to send a card to your parents to thank them for this rebirth. If they have passed away then do a meditation in deep appreciation of this rebirth they gave you. Even if life has been complicated, the main thing is you have the Dharma. This month you feel more and more energetic as the month progresses. Mars and then Mercury are in your sign for various times during October. So be mindful of where your thoughts lead you and use them in a positive manner. It is a good time to do something while you have the energy. Scorpio Buddhists are passionate. This month your mind is active so organize your thoughts around what makes you passionate in a positive manner. The best of passions is the passion for Bodhicitta and to be a bodhisattva.
SAGITTARIUS (November 22 – December 21) This month you will become more and more active. The month starts quietly but by the tenth you will be feeling great. Mars will enter your sign then and you can move your meditations to an active expression of compassion for all. You will feel very enthusiastic to the cause of being a bodhisattva in the last few weeks because of an aspect with Jupiter. Sagittarius Buddhists are inspired individuals. This month your inspiration is being friendly. So remember the definition of love, it is the wish to give others happiness. I wise person once said, “Love is nothing until it is given away.”
CAPRICORN (December 22 – January 19) This month there are some distractions from Pluto moving to a 90 degree aspect to the Sun and Uranus. This will happen in the first days of the month. Be mindful of agitated feelings and you will avoid acting out your frustrations. Virtuous mindfulness stops even bad astrological aspects. Be confident in your own clarity and positive feelings. The rest of the month will be fine with that in place. Capricorn Buddhists reflect and contemplate on decisions. This month be mindful of the suffering nature of samsara. That keeps you in balance as often we like to think our samsara should only get better and better. This is not the nature of samsara, so don’t rely on it.
AQUARIUS (January 20 – February 18) This month is calm and quiet. You have good aspects for some nice dreams and visions. The Sun is positively positioned to Aquarius all of the month. Midmonth expect your spiritual feelings to grow more and more. This will enhance your spiritual inspiration as a Bodhisattva. The reason is Neptune is coming back into Aquarius briefly. Aquarius Buddhists are sociable beings. This month you have broad vision of life and a sense of joy. Be mindful of your perspective. The perspective of a Bodhisattva is the best of all visions.
PISCES (February 19 – March 20) This month Venus in Virgo is opposite Neptune in Pisces. Venus stimulates love and pleasure. The opposition to Neptune will stimulate many romantic or fantasy type of thoughts. Be careful of being fussy about activities you are engaged in. As the month progresses this effect will diminish and you will feel a lot of compassion. This is because the Moon and Pluto will be well aspected. Pisces Buddhists are sensitive and introspective. This month know you are motivated with a strong love. Balance it with intelligence when dealing with others.

Remember – if you wish to send someone a Buddhist Astrology chart as a unique present, please request it early at THIS LINK. Another thought is giving a gift certificate for the chart reading. That guarantees the recipient does not know you are doing it, otherwise you have to ask for their birth data and that tends to give away the surprise.
