Meg Munro an award-winning watercolorist, is inspired by the bright colors and dramatic light of Puerto Vallarta which has been her home for the past 25+ years.
The images in many of her paintings are based on the present and past cultures of Mexico. Meg’s paintings are created with a limited palette, (permanent rose, quincacridone yellow, aureolin, viridian, cobalt, Windsor blue, and ultramarine deep) using a grisaille method.
Two of her series, the Purity Contour Paintings and the Botannical Collectibles, are based on vivid, lush images she observes on her frequent visits to the Vallarta Botanical Gardens creating three almost identical watercolors from one drawing.
Meg’s art is enjoyed by collectors and art and nature appreciators alike – Meg was the recipient of the 2009 Daniel Smith Artist Materials Merchandise Award combined with the American Artist’s Magazine Award.
