Eco-Hotel Ixhi is a traditional Mexican style hotel located on a cobble-stone road leading to El Estribo Grande in the beautiful little town of Patzcuaro.

Eco-Hotel Ixhi was designed by Mexico Architect Jorge Ramos with the intention of creating a space where visitors can visit, discover and enjoy the customs, history and traditions of the local indigenous P’urhépechas (or Tarascans).

The intimate Eco-Hotel has 4 guest rooms, 4 suites and 1 private casita. The character accommodations are decorated in the colors and style of ‘old’ Mexico. All guestrooms have Wi-Fi, Cable TV, purified water and complimentary coffee and tea. Massage treatments can be arranged.

Eco-Hotel Ixhi’s cozy restaurant serves a complimentary daily breakfast of homemade Mexican pastries and breads, chilaquiles, hot chocolate and other delights.

Patzcuaro is a fascinating small Colonial town dating back to 1538. The town is a mix of Colonial, Mission, Baroque and Neo-Classical architecture. Patzcuaro has several very good restaurants and interesting shops specializing in hand-made candles, hand-crafted furniture, clothing embroidered in the colourful, whimsical patterns of the lake and much more!

Patzcuaro’s two town squares come alive in late October, early November when the Fiesta de los Muertos (Feast of the Dead) celebrations take place. Traditional folk festivals and fiestas are held every month of the year in Patzcuaro and the surrounding towns.
