Casa Rosa is located in Morelia, the lovely capital of Michoacan State, 4 hours west of Mexico City and 3 hours east of Guadalajara. Morelia, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, has more than 200 historic Colonial buildings crafted from pink stone. Casa Rosa is conveniently located 2 blocks from Morelia’s center and 30 minutes from the airport.
Casa Rosa is a charming, bed and breakfast decorated in the traditional style of ‘old’ Mexico. Enormous carved wooden doors open to a private courtyard garden. The Casita, Studio and the Lopez Suite are tucked away at the back of the building out of view of the street and courtyard.
The decor is Mexican ‘rustica’ at its best – furnishings, hand-crafted in the delightful style the area is famous for, and whimsical folk art lovingly created by local indigenous people, combine to create a cheerful atmosphere.
The spacious 2-bedroom Casita and Studio (Love Shack) can be joined together to create a space for 2 families, a small group or an artist studio with a separate living area.
The 2 bedroom López Suite has a living/dining room, and staircase leading to a spectacular rooftop view of the Santa Maria hill, a perfect choice for a small family or two couples.
The Casita, Studio (Love Shack) and Lopez Suite all have fully-equipped kitchens, showers and semi-enclosed courtyard areas for intimate meals.
Casa Rosa is within easy walking distance of restaurants, cafes, galleries, boutique shops, Cafe Cathedral and Mercado Independencia. If you’ve never been to Michoacan State you’re in for a big treat! Jesus, Casa Rosa’s favourite tour guide and the proprietor Rose will guide you to nearby artist towns.
