Casa de los Flores is a sweet B&B with a lot of character located 2 1/2 blocks from Ajijic’s main plaza. When you enter the ornate 18th century wooden entry you are transported into a lush, private walled garden of roses, gardenias, bird of paradise and ever-blooming bougainvillea.
A tasteful, Bohemian decor is carried throughout the suites and attention given to the finest details. The names say it all: Bugambillia and Gardenia , Treetop Retreat, Shades of Africa, Moroccan Dream and Cleopatra’s Chamber. One wall of Cleopatra’s Chamber has an Egyptian-themed mural painted by the popular local artist Efren Gonzalez.
The suites all have varied garden and mountain views from a private terrace.
Casa de los Flores is a good choice if you’re in the mood for a calm, tranquil setting … it’s a place where you really can relax.
Once you meet proprietors Fernando Gomez and Steve Cross and discover the charms of Ajijic, you’ll see why they chose it for their home.
