Casa Chips quaint beachside inn is located in Barra de Navidad, a tiny fishing village tucked away between the Pacific Ocean and a serene lagoon that extends to the Sierra Madre mountain range. Barra is a tropical paradise of coconut palms, mangroves, colourful exotic flowers and beaches.
Casa Chips, opened in 2000, has completed extensive renovations. The rooms and suites are decorated in colorful, whimsical Mexican rustic design. Pelicano and Iguana rooms have 2 queen beds and a small fridge. Chips Suite and Cuarto Tortuga have 1 king bed. Sunrise, Sunset and Sky suites have a small kitchen and full or partial ocean view. All accommodations have a full bath, air conditioning, television and wi-fi.
Marlena’s Restaurant and Bar (on-site) specializes in Mexican and international cuisine served on the patio or beachside. Happy Hour is alive and well at Casa Chips and sunset is a good time to order a drink, sit back and watch the antics of pelicans, egrets and frigates. There’s nothing like a Barra sunset!
Casa Chips is an idyllic setting for a private getaway, small, intimate wedding or honeymoon.
Casa Chips is in the midst of Barra’s friendly shops that specialize in typical Mexican folk art, swimwear and beach paraphernalia. Stop in and watch how cigars are rolled, purchase oysters and other fresh seafood at the dock, take a boat ride to Colimilla – a very tiny village across the lagoon.
In Barra you can easily walk everywhere – you can even walk on the beach to San Patricio and Melaque – the beach towns next door. Local activities include swimming, surfing, diving, snorkeling and deep sea fishing.
Casa Chips is a place where you will have a cultural experience, be part of nature and mingle with the locals. Barra is a small village with a big Mexican vibe!
